A local community in Bali have created a whale sculpture from waste to highlight the problem of plastic in the oceans. For those who swim in and reply on the world’s oceans, plastic waste is now unavoidable – even in the most remote parts of our planet. Eight million tonnes per year are added to the one hundred and fifty tonnes already circulating.
If we can reconnect with our oceans, including through art projects such as this, perhaps we can learn to value them once again, and better protect the plants and animals with whom we share them.
